Learning Grant 2018

Evaluation Tool

Each Selection Committee will use the same evaluation tool to determine successful applicants for the 2018 Learning Grant Program.

Students will be evaluated on their academic achievement, community involvement and leadership. Equal weighting is provided to each category – up to 25 points – for a total maximum score of 75 points.

Academic Achievement

Applicants are asked to submit a transcript of grades and demonstrate academic achievement via their written or video essay. The Selection Committee will consider the applicant’s overall academic performance and commitment to academic excellence.

Community Involvement

Applicants are asked about their community involvement, which may include helping their neighbours, their community or their school. The Selection Committee will consider the type of activities applicants have been involved with, their demonstrated commitment and the impact it has had on those around them.

Leadership

Applicants were asked to speak about their leadership. The Selection Committee will consider how strong of a leadership role the applicant plays in their community.
